There's nothing like a smoothie in the morning or for an afternoon snack. There's something about a green smoothie to really get you going. The best part about this Apple Spinach Protein Smoothie from Treehugger is that you can add more spinach than what the recipe calls for as it doesn't alter the flavor. This recipe has a ton of fiber and loads of nutrients and vitamins such as potassium and Vitamins A and K. Remember to get an organic apple so you can leave the peel on and get the most nutrients from this fruit. Plus, this smoothie is packed with protein--about 24g in fact!

Prep time: 5 minutes

Total time: 5 minutes

Yield: 1 large smoothie or 2 small smoothies

Apple Spinach Protein Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 large organic apple
  • 3-4 cups organic spinach
  • 1 Tablespoon organic almond butter
  • 1 scoop of Ground-Based Nutrition Superfood Vanilla Protein Powder
  • 1 cup unsweetened original almond milk
  • 4-5 ice cubes
  1. Add all the ingredients except spinach to a blender and process until smooth.
  2. Add spinach in batches, blending a handful at a time until it is all incorporated.
  3. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
