When people hear the word detox, the word "fasting" typically comes to mine. However, doing a juice cleanse or following a specific diet may be how some people cope with detoxing, but there are other ways to detox as well.
1) Limit Alcohol:
More than 90% of alcohol is metabolized in your liver. Excessive drinking can cause a numerous amount of health problems including severe damage to your liver function by causing fat buildup, inflammation, and scarring. Limiting alcohol consumption or abstaining entirely from alcohol is the best way to keep your body's detoxification system running strong.
2) Focus on Sleep
Sleep allows your brain to relax and recharge itself as well as remove toxic waste byproducts acquired from throughout the day. Poor sleep can cause short and long term consequences such as stress, anxiety, high blood pressure, obesity, and heart disease, and more. It is recommended to have 7-9 hours of sleep per night in order to be in good health.
3) Drink More Water
Water is so important for regulating daily body function such as body temperature, lubricating joints, aiding in digestion and nutrient absorption, and detoxifying your body by removing waste products. The recommended number of glasses of water per day is 8-10 glasses.
