Strawberry season is almost here. A fun activity to do in April-June is to pick strawberries at a local farm.
Strawberries are an excellent source of Vitamin C and Manganese. They also contain a good amount of Folate (Vitamin B9) and Potassium. Strawberries contain antioxidants which help benefit heart health and blood sugar control. Strawberries may also improve blood antioxidant status, reduce inflammation, improve vascular function, improve blood lipid profile, and reduce the harmful oxidation of LDL (bad) cholesterol. A strawberry allergy is rather common among children.
Strawberries are low in calories and are juicy, healthy, and delicious.
