Foods to Avoid

Legumes

Legumes are not allowed on a Paleo diet because of the high lectin and phytic acid content. However, legumes are permitted on a plant-based diet which means incorporating these foods are of personal preference.
Grains

Wheat and all gluten-containing products are not allowed on a Paleo diet. However, brown rice and pseudo-grains like quinoa are permitted on a plant-based diet. The choice to incorporate these foods is of personal preference.
